Kevin Anthony Bates

Dear Friends and Family,

We are Brad and Sharon Bates, parents of Kevin Anthony Bates, our beloved son who tragically left us at the young age of 32. We had just celebrated his birthday, and he was our only son. It is with heavy hearts and tearful eyes that we write this message. Unfortunately, our son did not have insurance, and any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated. Your support would be a blessing to us as we arrange for his burial and create a meaningful remembrance in his honor.

Thank you all for your kindness and generosity.

With gratitude, Brad and Sharon Bates

Today we gather to honor Kevin Bates and to speak to his purpose. The place to start is by offering comfort and condolences to the family and friends we mourn with here today at Kevin's passing.

Kevin Anthony Bates was born on August 15,1991 in Culver City California to his mom Sharon Keyhea where she resided in Los Angeles for 3 years, Sharon was soon to become Mrs. Sharon Bates. Brad and Sharon were married and then the family moved to Devore, California where Kevin grew up.

Sharon and Brad knew it was necessary to find a local church. The mission was a success, Sharon and Brand found Sunrise Church. Sunrise had a school up and running, so they enrolled Kevin. From there he went to a Private Christian school named Peace in the Vally located in Fontana California. Then it was on to middle school at Kimbark. Kevin then went to Cajon High School. As an adult Kevin was off to Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. Kevin's major was in business and general education. Kevin worked at various warehouses as a forklift driver. (Fed Ex. etc.) He loved sports. His favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers and football team was the Atlanta Falcons. He had a passion for writing scary. stories. Brad told him he would make a good sportswriter!

Brad and Sharon shared a critical point in Kevin's journey when Kevin came to believe in his heart and publicly confessed that Jesus was his Lord, his savion, and his friend. This was a defining moment for Kevin and the family. Repentance turning from self-reliance and turning to relying on Jesus's love
